9 to 5

Is what I have coming this Monday; its a temporary gig, running to February of next year I was told.

I will be part of a team at a law firm in town, sifting through J-documents  as part of a process that will probably end in litigation.  Litigation against who?……….Well lets say life as of late has turned quite ironic.  The pay is not too bad, slightly less per hour than what I earned at Large International Automobile Manufacturer’s DC office.

Son is home from college another long drive to and from, though this time uneventful.  Do notice ‘something’ different about him and have given him more space than I would have a year ago, or before he left for college.  His mother is a different story.

Guess too this puts my planned trip to Japan (after son goes back to school) on hold as well.

Is he growing up? That’s happy and sad at the same time isn’t it. Sorry you aren’t going to get to make your trip. I would have loved to have seen some photos from Japan.

  2. Yeah, I’d say he’s grown up a bit during the 3 months he’s been away from home, but at the same time, I see him slipping into pre-college behavior patterns.

Yeah Japan would have been nice, still not too cold there right now. Can see wide-open seat availabilty in Feb., but it will be dead of winter there too.

Guess a job is a good thing, a trip to Japan would be a good thing too, but anywhere cold would put me off.

SOunds like Son is doing fine.

  4. Japan isn’t really that cold, unless you spend winter on its west coast, where the yearly snowfall is measured in meters, or northwards past Tokyo. The problem I found is that except for public buildings and places, there’s no central heating(so when you wake up in the morning, your house/apt is not much warmer than it is outside) and rememeber long, cold waits on train platforms, bundled up of course, but still cold.

  5. Congrats on the temp gig.
