Tomorrow, Back into the Breach

Census training tomorrow for all day.  This time 'round, its just a day. We, the trainees are I was told, to go out into the field again to confirm vacant housing, which I half hope doesn't send me to houses I visited and confirmed are vacant/abandoned.

Still its  $$ so I'm not complaining.  Son has a staff paint ball day tomorrow- free paint ball courtesy of his employer. What was a time conflict is now resolved as the time, originally for midday, is now in the evening; smart move given that the heat is now on again with a vengeance.

Interesting article this mornimg of a census worker arrested for tresspass. Odd in that a census worker has the same right as a postal worker to enter property to carry out assigened duties, so why the pinch? Must be more to it than that. But he/she does not, as some falsely claim as true, have any right to enter a home.

I've heard some interesting, um, commentary about the Census, not all of it flattering.

Yeah there have been news reports, and the bureaucracy is, well, glad I don't have to deal with it on a full-time basis, but all in all, what's been printed in the news is far removed from my experience and mostly likely that of others.
